    Who's under strain?

Click any country to select it, then a second to duel. Drag to pan; Ctrl + scroll or the buttons to zoom.

    How this works

Stress score (0-100) blends inflation, public debt, CDS spreads, current-account deficits, sovereign credit rating and the 30-day currency move, using whichever of those we hold for each market. Higher means more strain.

Currency moves use daily rates against the US dollar. Ratings are long-term foreign-currency sovereign ratings; NR means no rating on file. Figures marked as older come from the latest available year. News counts are wire stories tagged to each market in the last seven days.
